Position Title: Master Electrician Estimator Medium Voltage / Transformers

Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM (Must be available for 24-hour emergency on-call rotation)

Compensation: $75,000/year base salary + commission (Open to negotiation based on experience)

Role Summary

The Master Electrician & Estimator is responsible for estimating the scope, material, labor, and overall cost of various electrical projects to secure future business. This role involves proactive customer acquisition, field evaluations, comprehensive project planning, and regular collaboration with project management teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead Generation & Intake: Connect with potential customers via telephone, mail, or walk-ins to identify and generate bidding opportunities.

• On-Site Field Evaluations: Travel to customer sites using a company vehicle to assess project parameters and ensure the company possesses the capabilities to perform the specified job.

• Profitable Estimating: Develop, calculate, and prepare accurate job estimates and formal quotations on the computer to ensure company profitability.

• Project Planning: Map out comprehensive job functions, including material sourcing, labor hours, and realistic project timelines.

• Reporting & Collaboration: Submit finalized job estimates to management in a timely manner and interface directly with Project Managers to ensure successful execution of awarded contracts.

• Data & Record Management: Maintain, organize, and archive complete job records, including open bids, lost bids, awarded bids, and completed projects.

• Post-Project Review: Participate in the review of completed jobs to analyze performance and refine accuracy for future estimates.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction experience is required.

• Estimating Background: Prior experience in electrical estimating and job quoting is required.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Licensure: Valid Master Electrician license.

• Driving Record: Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record to operate company vehicles. A DOT medical card is not required, but having one is a bonus.

• Availability: Flexibility to participate in a 24-hour emergency on-call rotation to support our around-the-clock operations.

• Communication & Diplomacy: Exceptional oral, written, and technical communication skills, with a proven ability to maintain strong customer relations and handle negotiations diplomatically.

• Technical & Math Aptitude: Advanced mathematical proficiency to accurately calculate labor, margins, and material costs.

• Organization & Professionalism: High level of organizational skill to manage multiple open bids simultaneously while maintaining a strictly professional demeanor on client sites.

• Computer Literacy: Proficient in using computers and estimating software to regularly generate digital quotes and maintain electronic records.
