Medical Records & Disability Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records & Disability Clerk to support a busy medical office. This role focuses on maintaining patient medical records, processing disability-related paperwork. This role supports patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and government agencies Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are highly preferred

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday
• 8:00am – 5:00pm

Pay:

• $18.00 -$21.00

Essential Job Functions:

• Process requests for medical records from patients, physicians, insurance companies, attorneys, and government agencies.
• Prepare and submit disability paperwork, including state disability, workers' compensation, FMLA, and other leave-of-absence forms.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of medical documentation before submission.
• Scan, file, fax, and upload medical documents into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Assist patients with completing forms and understanding required documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records in electronic and paper filing systems.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of medical office experience
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• High school diploma or GED required

Skills:

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
• Proficient with computers, phones, and standard office systems
