CASHIER / COUNTER - Memphis Zoo

Summary: The Cashier/Counter team member is responsible for selling, preparing, servicing, and/or providing food and beverage items at Memphis Zoo.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sells concessions, including soft drinks and various food items, to external and internal customers.
• May be assigned to any outlet of the food & beverage operations based on multiple factors, including business need, skill set, and availability.
• Where applicable, must be of appropriate age to comply with all laws, policies, and procedures related to the sale, handling, and/or service of alcoholic beverages, which are sold in most outlets.
• Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner following outlined steps of service.
• Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Performs sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion. Enters sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
• Adheres to Levy Payment Integrity Policy for processing accepted payment forms and transactions.
• Maintains a clean, hygienic, functional, and aesthetically pleasing guest-facing area, including stocking & organizing condiments and general supplies, and cleaning guest-facing chairs/tables/counters & service areas.
• Ensures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Be Nice.
• Must be able to procure and maintain all required certifications and licensing for the purpose of food and alcohol handling.
