Job Title: Clienttion Oncology Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Nurse Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Working 4-10's, Weekdays Hours per Shift: 36 Guaranteed Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN Clienttion Oncology experience License: Current RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS through American Heart Association Must-Have: - RN Clienttion Oncology work experience (not Medical Oncology) Description: The Clienttion Oncology Nurse is a registered nurse who functions in a collaborative role with the Clienttion Oncology Team. The nurse provides continuity and quality patient care. Responsibilities include assessing and providing appropriate nursing interventions for actual or potential problems related to the disease process, treatment course, and follow-up period. This role emphasizes teaching, counseling, and supportive functions to assist the patient and/or family in coping with and adjusting to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The nurse assists in the evaluation and examination of patients with the Clienttion Oncologist. The Clienttion Oncology Nurse serves as a liaison between Clienttion Oncology and other departments, as well as physician groups and support groups. In this setting, the nurse will assess and provide appropriate referrals for alternative resources for recovery, rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services. The position requires the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment. Strong communication skills with members of the multidisciplinary team are essential, both written and verbal. The candidate must be able to coordinate oncology patient care with interdisciplinary staff. Flexibility and strong organizational skills are necessary. Knowledge and skills to provide care to patients of varying age groups, human development stages, and cultural groups are important. Understanding of chronic illness and comorbidity management is required. Current knowledge of the latest trends, skills, procedures, and protocols in hematology/oncology and internal medicine practice is essential. Awareness of the latest evidence-based oncology, immunology, pharmacology, community health, and cultural sensitivity information is necessary.
