Crane Operator

Summary You will serve as a CRANE OPERATOR in the CRANE & RIGGING BRANCH, ORDNANCE DEPARTMENT of NMC CWD DET SEAL BEACH. Responsibilities You will operate cranes to move ammunition, missiles, heavy equipment, machinery beams, lumber, crated or packed material, and similar items. You will maintain crane equipment, performing such tasks as replacing spark plugs and fan belts, and cleaning and lubricating parts of cranes. You will provide and implement plans to ensure material handling equipment (MHE) and ordnance handling equipment (OHE) are certified, inspected, and tested in accordance with appropriate regulations. You will receive, examine, segregate, process, store, and issue fleet returned ordnance materials of all types. You will be a designated certifying official and provide testing and licensing services for personnel who will be operating cranes. You will maintain crane history files in accordance with instructions. You will ensure conformance to all specified technical requirements and safety of ordnance material and operations. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
