Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit serving ED observation patients, overnight stays, and post-surgical patients requiring overnight monitoring
• Manage a patient assignment within established ratios (up to 5 patients, with a maximum of 7 in select circumstances) across a 16-bed unit
• Administer and monitor heparin therapy in accordance with facility protocols
• Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic medical records
• Participate in holiday coverage as required, including up to 2 of 3 designated summer holidays

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of recent experience in Med Surg/Telemetry, IMCU, stepdown, or PCU setting
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records required
• Demonstrated heparin administration experience required
• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license required at time of submission
• Active BLS certification through AHA or ARC required
• Active ACLS certification through AHA or ARC required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Completed skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry, IMCU, stepdown, or PCU discipline
