Description

• Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations using both recognized assessments and thorough observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment plans tailored to short- and long-term communication, cognitive, or dysphagia goals.
• Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting areas like speaking, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers to design integrated care approaches.
• Provide vital education to patients and families to promote progress beyond the therapy room.
• Conduct occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care during treatment.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation that aligns with all regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay on the cutting edge of clinical practices through education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required unless currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
