Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, also referred to as MRI Technologists, utilize magnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI Technologists must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly and effectively record the requested diagnostic images. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are flexible and would like to advance their career growth opportunities within Cleveland Clinic.A PRN caregiver in this position works variable shifts, Monday-Friday and rotating holidays, between 7:00AM – 11:00PM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals and objectives for the department.Maintain a safe, clean, and economical operation.Coordinate and answer questions regarding scheduling, networking, informatics, and patient information.Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination.Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation, contacts service if necessary.Provide copies of imaging studies in a timely manner.Perform routine imaging, emergent, invasive and all special procedures according to the policy/protocol manual and written orders.Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule.Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned.Aid other associates in the department upon completion of duties or as assigned by a supervisor.Attend and participate in monthly department meetings.Provide training, supervision, mentoring and evaluation support for new hires, students and other clinical learners as assigned.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRTRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) must be obtained within 12 months of hire/transferBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossKnowledge of Federal and State regulatoriesPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging settingPhysical Requirements:Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand.Requires sitting at a workstation or desk; requires standing; work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs.Work requires finger dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
