BIM Technician

Revit & Stratus Technician

We are looking for an experienced BIM Technician with strong Revit & Stratus background to support the development and coordination of detailed piping and mechanical systems. Job Title: Revit & Stratus Technician Location: Hammond, IN (100% onsite, local candidates only) Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed 3D models in Revit and Stratus for piping and mechanical systems.
• Create fabrication and installation drawings using project specifications, construction documents, and engineering information.
• Model piping, equipment, fittings, supports, valves, and other related mechanical components.
• Coordinate mechanical and piping models with structural, architectural, electrical, and other MEP disciplines.
• Review models and drawings for accuracy, constructability, completeness, and potential conflicts.
• Perform clash detection and make necessary adjustments to address coordination and modeling issues.
• Read and interpret construction documents, engineering drawings, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, detailers, and field personnel throughout the project.
• Update models and drawings to reflect design revisions, project changes, and field conditions.
• Follow established project standards, modeling practices, and file organization procedures.
• Complete assigned work within project schedules while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.

Requirements:

• Education – Relevant education or technical training in BIM/VDC, mechanical design, drafting, construction, or a related discipline is preferred.
• BIM Technician – At least 5 years of professional experience in BIM/VDC, mechanical detailing, piping, or a related field; able to read and interpret mechanical, piping, and construction drawings; understands BIM coordination and clash detection; able to produce accurate models and drawings.
• Autodesk Revit – Must have strong proficiency.
• Stratus – Experience required, including strong knowledge of its fabrication/detailing workflows.
• Piping – Professional experience and solid understanding of piping systems, fittings, valves, equipment, and supports.
• Soft Skills – Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams; strong attention to detail, can work well with technical and non-technical teams and project stakeholders.
