Job Summary
The Bakery Cook is responsible for producing artisanal breads, laminated doughs, and pastries with precision and consistency. This role requires strong technical skills in dough handling, fermentation, lamination, and pastry fundamentals. The Bakery Cook follows strict SOPs for ingredient measurement, temperature control, time management, and technique, ensuring the highest quality baked goods that reflect the standards of Boul’Ange.

- Prepare and bake artisanal breads, laminated doughs, and a variety of pastries with accuracy and attention.
- Follow strict SOPs for dough handling, including ingredient measurement, temperature control, fermentation timing, shaping, and proofing.
- Execute lamination techniques for croissants and other pastries, ensuring consistency in layers and quality.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized workstation at all times.
- Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate production and maintain smooth operations.
- Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and collaborate with the pastry and prep teams to support overall kitchen production.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards, including maintaining clean, pressed uniforms.
- Assist with daily production schedules, ensuring products are completed on time for service.
- Maintain personal hygiene, and ensure that uniforms are clean and pressed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of artisanal bread baking, laminated dough techniques, and pastry fundamentals.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow precise recipes and SOPs while maintaining consistency.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Keen attention to detail and a passion for quality and craft.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous professional baking or pastry experience required; artisanal bread and laminated dough experience strongly preferred.
- Must successfully complete all required company training, including food safety certification.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working near hot ovens.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Manual dexterity and strength required for kneading, shaping, and handling doughs.
