RN Procedural Care

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Procedural Care Unit is responsible for providing skilled nursing care before and after interventional radiology procedures. This role involves patient assessments, monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care during procedural recovery. The RN must maintain current licensure and certifications, demonstrate proficiency with EPIC EMR, and have experience in interventional radiology or related procedural care. Responsibilities:

• Provide pre- and post-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage patient recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Document patient care activities accurately using EPIC EMR.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedural care process.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in interventional radiology or procedural care.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Previous experience working in interventional radiology or procedural care units.
• Successful completion of traveler nursing assignments.

Special Considerations:

• Work involves pre- and post-procedural patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to respond to urgent patient needs and emergencies.
• Adherence to strict procedural protocols and safety standards is required.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position with day shift hours assigned in the Procedural Care Unit.
