General Labor/Forklift Operator

Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Operates indoor forklifts and material handling equipment to move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods within the manufacturing facility safely and efficiently. Also completes general labor tasks in the facility, including packaging, material movement, and housekeeping to support efficient manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate sit-down counterbalanced forklifts inside the manufacturing facility
Transport raw materials from receiving to production areas
Move work-in-process between production departments per router instructions
Place and retrieve materials from rack storage using forklift
Inspect forklift before each shift and report maintenance needs
Maintain organized material flow and staging areas
Follow all pedestrian safety and aisle clearance rules

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED
Valid forklift operator certification
1+ years indoor forklift operation experience
Ability to read a tape

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Sit-down and reach truck experience
Ability to read micrometers and calipers
