Job Description
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced welder and fabricator to work in a temperature-controlled fabrication shop, focusing primarily on sheet metal fabrication with the ability to grow into full-time welding. You will use your fabrication, welding, and blueprint-reading skills to produce high-quality metal components and assemblies while contributing to a collaborative production environment.

Work Environment
You will work in a plant-based, temperature-controlled fabrication shop designed to provide a comfortable and consistent environment for production work. The role follows a 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM schedule. You will regularly use fabrication equipment such as press brakes, welding tools, grinding equipment, and metal cutting tools while collaborating with other team members in a structured, safety-conscious shop setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Perform sheet metal fabrication tasks, including measuring, cutting, forming, and assembling metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes and other shop tools to form and shape metal parts accurately.
- Execute welding operations on fabricated parts, applying appropriate welding techniques to achieve strong, clean welds.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine job requirements, dimensions, and fabrication methods.
- Use grinding tools to finish and smooth welded and fabricated surfaces to meet quality standards.
- Perform metal cutting using appropriate tools and equipment, ensuring precise cuts and minimizing material waste.
- Assemble fabricated parts into final products or subassemblies, verifying fit, alignment, and structural integrity.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all shop safety procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement in fabrication processes.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Experience performing welding tasks in a fabrication or shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with press brake operations and other fabrication equipment.
- Skill in grinding and finishing metal surfaces to meet quality standards.
- Metal cutting experience using appropriate shop tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work a 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM schedule in a fabrication shop environment.
- 3G Welding Certificate preferred.
- Experience in assembly of fabricated metal parts and components.
- Comfort working in a production plant or fabrication shop setting.
- Willingness to develop and grow welding skills with an interest in full-time welding work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
