Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care. - Wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, Hemodialysis Catheter care, Fistulas, PCA, pain management

Required Credentials: - Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN).

Special Requests: - OR RNs only: Application must include either an OR - Circulating or an OR - Scrub skills checklist, in addition to the OR - RN checklist. - Up to 7 days of RTO; must extend 1 week for every full week requested off. - May request only 1 weekend of RTO per 13-week contract.

Unit Details: - Brand new medical surgical/telemetry unit. - Patient population includes sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and PNA. - Post-op overflow includes total joints (knees, hips, shoulders) and GI/abdominal surgeries (hemicolectomies, bowel resections, etc.). - Wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, hemodialysis catheter care, fistulas, PCA, and pain management. - Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week; this is mandatory. - No call. - Will work 2/3 holidays.

Floating Requirements: - Floating to any Med/Surg area within the hospital. - Travelers float first.

Previous Employment Requirements: - Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
