Registered Nurse – Free-Standing Emergency Room (FSED)

Location: Lake Jackson, Tallahassee, FL

Shifts Available: Days, Nights, and Mids

Job Type : Full Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Emergency Room RN to join the team at a Free-Standing Emergency Department. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident in their clinical decision-making, multitasking, and critical thinking skills. You will care for patients of all ages with conditions ranging from minor injuries to acute or critical emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triage, assess, and provide care for patients of all age groups
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical assessments
• Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, effective care
• Educate patients and families on follow-up care and discharge instructions
• Prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously in a high-acuity setting
• Participate in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of patient care and treatment outcomes

Qualifications:

• Required: Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Licensure: Active Florida RN license or multi-state compact license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – required before start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – within 90 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 90 days of hire
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention – within 90 days of hire
