Accounts Payable & Accounting Intern

We are currently accepting applications for an internship with our Accounts Payable and Accounting department. This is a 6 month paid internship - 30 hours/week.

The Accounts Payable & Accounting Intern will support the daily operations of the Accounts Payable and Accounting teams while gaining hands-on experience in financial processes and business systems. This role provides exposure to invoice management, vendor communications, document processing, accounting support activities, and special projects. The internship is designed to provide a broad understanding of accounting operations and financial best practices.

Primary Responsibilities

• Open, sort, scan, and distribute incoming mail and invoices.
• Monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox and assist with routing inquiries and invoices to appropriate team members.
• Review and forward invoices through Coupa for processing.
• Assist with vendor statement reviews and follow-up activities.
• Download utility invoices and ensure timely submission for payment processing.
• Learn and assist with invoice entry and coding procedures.
• Maintain electronic records and supporting documentation.
• Support the Accounting team with administrative and accounting-related tasks.
• Assist with special projects, reporting, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Adhere to company policies regarding confidentiality and financial controls

Experience and Education

Required:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Prior coursework in Accounting or Finance.
• Familiarity with ERP or invoice management systems is a plus.
• Interest in pursuing a career in Accounting, Finance, or Business Operations.
