About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Vascular Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in cardiac, vascular, and transplant experience; 1 year CVOR experience; 1 year in a Level I Trauma facility License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIH, ACLS Must-Have: 2+ years in cardiac, vascular, and transplant experience 1 year CVOR experience 1 year in a Level I Trauma facility Description: The Operating Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care in the cardiac vascular operating room. Shift will vary from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM with call required. Candidates must be flexible with their schedule. Call hours will begin at 7 PM each weekday night and will be distributed equitably among staff members. Weekend call is required and will be divided into 12-hour blocks. The amount of call may change each month based on staff availability. Experience with EPIC charting system is required. Candidates must have general operating room experience and specific skills in cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, and transplant surgeries. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics. Common cases include coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgeries, and endovascular procedural interventions. Candidates are expected to adhere to safety protocols and participate in infection control procedures. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with patient education and discharge planning. Candidates must complete any required credentialing and compliance steps promptly. Travelers must be aware of the urgency of the fingerprinting process for background checks.
