Project Manager - Houston, TX

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Review plans and technical documents, answer scope and timing questions, and monitor costs (P&L) and project progress. Conduct Pre‑Hand‑Off and Post‑Hand‑Off Meetings with sales and operations teams to clarify scope, expectations, and lessons learned. Understand contract language and execute projects within scope. Plan, administer, and complete assigned projects, often spanning multiple functional areas. Manage assignments of varying length, complexity and multi‑phased nature. Supervise staff, provide work direction, and verify/approve payroll. Communicate with clients, contractors, designers and subcontractors using the RF/Q/PI process regarding cost, scope, staffing, scheduling and change orders. Collaborate with teams to execute the project management plan and revise it through a structured change‑order process. Prepare project status reports and ensure adherence to contract specifications. Handle all job‑site management activities for crews and subcontractors. Coordinate with sales and safety professionals on training, accident & injury investigations, and incident investigations. Operate onsite and travel to client sites to direct project activities. Develop detailed project schedules with milestones, deliverables and dependencies based on business objectives, budget, scope, timeline and risks. Facilitate weekly progress meetings and resolve issues with stakeholders and executives. Maintain project files in SharePoint for continuity and documentation. Represent MEI professionally, adhering to corporate mission, vision and values. Supervise Project Engineers in the region. Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education) High school diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Five (5) plus years of proven experience in machinery moving, construction, project management or construction safety. Familiarity with clean‑room protocols (preferred). Experience with field concepts, practices, procedures and risk management. Strong judgment and experience in planning and achieving goals. Excellent interpersonal, supervisory and project‑management skills. Superior communication and presentation skills. Highly self‑directed, motivated and able to work independently or in a team. Proven experience controlling project P&L. Problem‑solving and time‑management skills. Independent judgment within established guidelines. Negotiation skills for prioritization and design decisions. Conflict resolution skills in early stages. Participation in department and team meetings. Ability to read and interpret data sets and plans. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of SharePoint. Valid driver’s license. Local travel based on project location. OSHA 30 certification required.
