Job Function SummaryInvolves the provision of integrated and accessible primary and specialty patient care services in a clinic or center environment. Care is provided by clinicians and assistants who are accountable for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs and developing a sustainable partnership with patients. Ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and/or provision of patient care delivery in healthcare clinics or centers. Promotes shared decision-making at all levels to ensure a shared voice in practices, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved patient services. Management levels may also be responsible for clinic operations. (Note, when primary focus is clinical operations, see Ambulatory Administration job function.) Manages the delivery of ambulatory patient care, which typically includes nursing, and may include laboratory, radiology, dental, etc. Facilitates the flow of patient care activities; may also participate in practice or center management operations.QualificationsRequired qualifications:At least 5 years of clinical experience in nursing with 2 of those years in a dermatology setting.Minimum of 2 years of nursing supervisory experience in an outpatient clinic familiar with Dermatology diseases.Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making. Able to convey information with authority, handle highly sensitive matters, and interact with high level contacts from other departments/organizations.Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain technical specialty concepts thoroughly.Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration, and consistent achievement of objectives.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine the appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.Highly developed personal organizational skills. Proven ability to organize staff and tasks, manage multiple priorities/projects through completion and on schedule, oversee multiple locations, and delegate work functions in an efficient and effective manner in a complex and challenging environment. Flexibility to adjust to constantly changing priorities.Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.Maintains current knowledge of nursing practices, dermatologic advancements, new methodologies, relevant industry/regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, medical center health and safety guidelines, and advances in the field of specimen processing, automation, and procedures.Strong knowledge of quality assurance methods and ability to apply principles to design quality systems.Ability to use laboratory applications/clinical softwares/databases/dashboards.
