Composite Technician Painter

Job Description Job Description A Composite Technician Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, assembling, and finishing composite and metal aircraft components used in aerospace and defense systems. The role involves working with advanced composite materials, spray coatings, adhesives, and fabrication tools to ensure high-quality production standards in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities - Prepare, sand, mask, contour, and paint composite and metal aircraft parts - Apply epoxy, urethane, and water-based coatings using spray guns and painting equipment - Assist with composite fabrication, lay-up, curing, trimming, drilling, and assembly processes - Read and interpret blueprints, templates, process sheets, and technical drawings - Assemble aircraft components using adhesives, rivets, and fasteners - Perform quality inspections and ensure components meet engineering specifications - Maintain records, monitor material usage, and follow safety and compliance procedures - Support production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities in manufacturing operations Required Skills & Qualifications - Experience with composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, and epoxy systems - Knowledge of sanding, masking, spray painting, finishing, and surface preparation techniques - Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment - Ability to read blueprints and perform precise fabrication work - Strong attention to detail, quality control, and safety compliance - Ability to work in physically demanding manufacturing environments and lift up to 50 lbs - Aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing experience is highly preferred - U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance may be required for some positions Common Tools & Technologies - HVLP spray guns - Sanding and trimming tools - Vacuum press systems - Composite lay-up equipment - Epoxy resins and catalysts - Measuring tools such as calipers and protractors Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: -06/22- 088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdf The pay transparency policy is available here: - transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdf For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, the Company is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
