Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Float Pool)

Contract | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays included in rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Float across MedSurg Telemetry and PCU units on two campuses, including coverage for inpatients holding in the ED
• Provide direct patient care for geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and post-CABG (day 3–4) patients
• Titrate and manage drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips; monitor techs are available for PCU and MedSurg Tele, while stepdown unit monitors are on the unit
• Manage respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow in applicable units
• Maintain awareness of unit assignments communicated via text message approximately two hours prior to shift start; flexibility between campuses is required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PCU setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Demonstrated ability to titrate and manage the majority of common cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-cardiac catheterization patients, including groin site management
• Familiarity with respiratory support equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High Flow
• Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
