Position Specific Description

The Fleet Reliability Engineer supports the nuclear fleet by providing technical expertise to improve equipment reliability, reduce risk, and ensure safe, compliant operation of critical plant systems. This role focuses on reliability and lifecycle management of electrical and I&C (instrumentation and control) support system performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting across the fleet.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide fleet-level reliability engineering support for electrical control systems for cranes, hoists, and heavy lifting equipment

• Apply electrical and/or I&C expertise to support control systems, instrumentation, condition monitoring, and equipment diagnostics.

• Perform root cause evaluations and develop corrective actions for equipment performance issues and adverse events.

• Support lifecycle management plans, obsolescence evaluations, and modernization strategies.

• Interface with site engineering, maintenance, vendors, and OEMs to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulatory commitments, and nuclear quality requirements.

• Support outage planning and execution activities as needed.

Work Environment and Culture

This position is based in Jupiter West, Florida and works within the Fleet Reliability Engineering team. The role partners closely with site engineering, operations, and maintenance across the nuclear fleet. The work environment is collaborative, technically rigorous, and focused on continuous improvement, risk reduction, and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Nuclear power plant experience.

• Reliability engineering or lifecycle management experience.

• Familiarity with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, NUREG, plant programs).

Job Overview

This job is responsible for performing engineering activities that support projects and operations across the nuclear business. Employees in this role apply broad nuclear plant engineering experience and principles to make decisions and recommendations. Individuals work with independence and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development.

• Performs highly complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations
• Leads discussions in a group setting to resolve problems or coordinate design production
• Applies nuclear industry standards and regulations to solve new problems and address situations
• Serves as technical liaison within the nuclear business unit
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

• Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
