Lead Mental Health Technician

University Behavioral Center of Orlando, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds.

The Lead Mental Health Technician is responsible for ensuring that staff and residents adequately follow the program. Mentors and trains new staff in program implementation, interpretation, and application. Administers verbal de-escalation during crisis situations. Responds to all codes and participates in protective holds.

Job duties/responsibilities include supervising and assisting in implementation of the behavioral management program, responding to crisis in a timely manner, ensuring proper notification and documentation is completed, introducing and helping to develop and implement creative and innovative ideas for the program, and regularly monitoring safety and cleanliness of facility and grounds.

Qualifications include a BA/BS degree preferred, high school diploma, two years direct care experience working with behavioral/emotionally challenged youth, proficiency in verbal de-escalation and Handle with Care, and a strong knowledge of the program manual and its implementation.
