Overview The Elevate Edge Applications Team (EEAT) builds the software that sits closest to Joby's physical operations - charging infrastructure, maintenance tooling, configuration tracking, and operational intelligence.As a Product Designer on EEAT, you will contribute to Joby's mission by designing the tools used daily by the people who charge, maintain, and operate our aircraft - making their work faster, safer, and more intuitive, while supporting the precision and traceability required for aerospace diligence.You will work closely with product managers and engineers as a thought partner, delivering end-to-end design solutions across the near aircraft product surfaces and contributing across the full product lifecycle. Responsibilities Design from research and discovery through wireframes, prototypes, and final specsTranslate complex technical workflows - charging, maintenance, configuration - into simple, elegant user experiencesBalance big-picture systems design with pixel-level attention to detailCollaborate closely with PMs and engineers as a partner in shaping productsConduct user research and usability testing with the operations, maintenance, and engineering teams who use these toolsContribute to and maintain scalable design systems across the near aircraft applicationsRapidly prototype and test ideas to validate decisions earlyMeasure usability and adoption to drive continuous improvementLeverage AI as part of your own design and prototyping workflows to accelerate delivery, and explore opportunities to incorporate AI into end-user solutions Required BA/BS in Design, HCI, or a comparable field, or equivalent experience5+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio of complex systems or enterprise toolsStrong skills in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch)Ability to simplify complex workflows through thoughtful interaction designExperience conducting user research and usability testingStrong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiencesProven track record of driving projects from concept to launch in fast-paced environmentsExperience leveraging AI tools/workflows to accelerate design and prototypingExcellent problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams Desired Background in aviation, aerospace, or other regulated industriesExperience designing enterprise or operational systemsFamiliarity working near hardware and with hardware-adjacent workflowsExperience in operations, transportation, automotive, or logistics environmentsAbility to contribute to visual design and motion/interaction in addition to UX Additional Information Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $120,200 - $191,100/yr.
