About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 16-bed Med Surg / Telemetry unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
• Monitor and care for telemetry patients, including reading and measuring telemetry strips
• Deliver post-operative surgical care including orthopedic and general surgery patients
• Administer and manage IV drips including Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
• Accurately document patient care and assessments using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg and/or Med Surg Telemetry experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Experience with orthopedic and general surgery patient care
• Drip experience with Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact / Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Active AHA or ARC BLS certification
• Active AHA or ARC ACLS certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Hands-on telemetry experience with ability to read and measure strips
• EPIC EMR charting experience
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
