Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases required.

License: VA License required

Certifications: BLS (must be AHA), CST and state registration required at time of submittal

Must-Have:

• Minimum of 2 years recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases.
• Ability to multitask and apply critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player.

Description:

Candidates must have experience in the following:

• Coronary Artery Bypass
• Ascending Aortic Aneurysms
• Valve Repair and Replacement
• Structural Heart Procedures (TAVR, Mitraclip)
• Thoracic Organ (Heart and Lung) Transplant
• ECMO
• Ventricular Assist Devices
• Redo and emergent cases
• Adult scrub experience is required, while pediatric scrub experience is a plus.
• Understanding that on-call duties are required approximately after every scheduled shift from 5:30 AM until 6:30 AM.
• Candidates should be willing to accommodate holiday coverage as per departmental needs.
• Participation in professional activities of the department is expected.
• Numerous research protocols are ongoing. Candidates should be proactive in adding any time off requested to the end of contracts for a full 13 working weeks.
