Senior Civil Engineer

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join a civil engineering consulting firm in the Durham, NC area focused on site development projects for public and private clients across the Southeast. As a Senior PE, you would lead civil site development projects from proposal through delivery, build client relationships, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary plus performance bonus. Responsibilities Include: Manage one or more civil site development projects for a diverse portfolio of public and private clients. Prepare and oversee construction drawings for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure. Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure successful project delivery. Lead proposal preparation and fee development to support business growth. Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams. Visit client offices, job sites, and consultant locations to support project execution and business development. Oversee engineering work and ensure it aligns with project objectives and company standards. Monitor project performance using Vantagepoint, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Supervise, mentor, and develop engineers and technicians. Communicate project status, risks, and solutions to clients and leadership. Perform other related duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Significant experience in civil engineering design and project management. Extensive experience managing civil site development projects in a consulting environment, including residential, commercial, and/or industrial site plans. A strong understanding of civil site design, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D. A track record of business development and client relationship management. Experience leading and mentoring teams. An understanding of business financial metrics and project performance. The ability to manage multiple complex assignments, prioritize workflow, and meet deadlines.
