Psychiatry Opportunity (Inpatient) in Gainesville, Florida. Medical Center is seeking an inpatient psychiatrist to join their established Behavioral Health Team. This employed position includes a 7‑on / 7‑off schedule with the potential to transition to a Monday–Friday schedule as the hospital begins a psychiatry residency program next summer. Responsibilities Provide inpatient psychiatric care for adults 18 and older. Maintain a 7‑on / 7‑off schedule with three nights of on‑week call. Participate in teaching and mentorship of residents; eligible for a faculty appointment with the University of Central Florida. Collaborate with support staff for weekend coverage to ensure patient efficiency. Develop individualized treatment plans and oversee aftercare planning. Unit Features & Services Certified Baker Act Receiving Facility accepting voluntary patients and direct admissions. 33‑bed unit with activity areas, group areas, dining spaces, and therapeutic daily schedules designed for skill and strategy development. Individualized treatment plans with varying lengths of stay based on patient needs. Aftercare planning led by clinical staff to ensure appropriate follow‑up before discharge. ECT suites available for patients requiring inpatient ECT treatment.
