Forklift Operator
Location: Harrisburg, North Carolina
Employment Type: Temp to Hire Pay Rate: $19–$20 per hour (based on experience) Schedule:
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (occasional Saturdays)
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday (occasional Saturdays)
Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Forklift Operator for a full-time temp-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a solid background operating forklifts in construction, steel, or other demanding industrial environments. Safety, precision, and reliability are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a heavy forklift to transport materials within construction, industrial, or metal-handling settings
- Load and unload heavy materials from trucks, storage, and workstations
- Handle large, heavy, or irregularly shaped loads with care and efficiency
- Ensure proper stacking, securing, and transportation of materials
- Perform routine forklift inspections and maintenance checks
- Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations to prevent accidents
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating heavy forklifts in construction, steel, or industrial environments
- Skilled in maneuvering large and heavy loads accurately
- Experience handling metal materials, steel beams, or oversized equipment preferred
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and OSHA standards
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one if required
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and various weather environment
