First Baptist Church of Eunice is prayerfully seeking a full-time Lead Pastor who has been clearly called by God to pastoral ministry. We are seeking a man in line with the description of Ezra 7:10 who is committed to faithfully enacting, preaching, and teaching God’s Word. He should be ready to shepherd the congregation, equip believers for ministry, and lead our church in fulfilling the Great Commission.

I. Qualifications
Applicants should:
• Demonstrate a clear personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• Be a man of integrity who meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
• Manage his household well and keep his family faithful and in good order.
• Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and support active fellowship with the Acadiana Baptist Association, Louisiana Baptists, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
• Be ordained or eligible for ordination in a Southern Baptist church.
• Demonstrate strong biblical preaching, teaching, leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care.
• Exhibit strong alignment with the church’s theology, mission, and ministry philosophy.
• Have five years of pastoral or professional ministry experience (preferred).
• Hold a seminary degree (preferred).

II. Primary Responsibilities
• Maintains a vital and wholesome personal relationship with the Lord through daily Bible study and prayer.
• Plans and conduct worship services, developing sermons, planning with music leadership and leading in the observance of ordinances.
• Leads the congregation in effective programs to fulfill the Great Commission with vision, purpose and priority.
• Leads and demonstrates effective ways to witness and win the lost to salvation through Jesus Christ.
• Visits and ministers to members and prospective members in homes, nursing care facilities and hospitals.
• Conducts counseling sessions, performs wedding ceremonies and conducts funeral services.
• Works with Church Corporate Officers, Deacons and other key leadership to carry out the mission and purpose of the church.
• Cooperates with associational, state and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern.
• Serves as Overseer/Administrator of paid church staff supervising and evaluating the tasks assigned to each.
• Serves to recommend and advise committees and teams as an ex-officio member.
• Oversees, along with Deacons, all church discipline matters and the management of conflict issues in the church.
• Communicates with the congregation through announcements, written and spoken using church emails, bulletins and worship services.
• Gives full support biblically to the Undesignated Budget of the church.
• Adheres to the Church Constitution adopted by the church.

We desire a pastor who will faithfully lead our church with humility, conviction, and a servant’s heart. Our mission is to Proclaim Jesus and present mature followers. Eunice is a welcoming South Louisiana town with a strong Cajun culture. It is the seat of several annual festivals and Louisiana State University at Eunice. The population includes Catholics, Baptist, Pentecostals, Assemblies of God, and a few nones.
