Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Travel Night Pharmacy Technician position based in Gardena, CA, offering a contract duration of 8 to 13 weeks. The role involves working a 5 on, 5 off schedule with 10-hour night shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, providing essential pharmacy support for a licensed facility with 173 beds and an average daily census of 140 patients.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing intravenous (IV) medications, including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs)
- Filling and managing Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
- Handling order entry through Allscripts/Paragon systems
- Delivering medications to nursing units and responding to pharmacy-related phone inquiries
Desired Experience:
- Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience
- Skilled in making IVs and preparing sterile products
- Experience working with Pyxis or similar automated dispensing systems
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy workflows and medication delivery
Location:
- Gardena, CA (travel role with potential relocation support)
Schedule:
- Night shift, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 5 days on, 5 days off (consecutive days)
