Animal Care Center of Castle Pines is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians, providing high-quality patient care, educating clients, and ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
- Collect laboratory samples, perform diagnostic testing, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters and perform venipuncture.
- Obtain and interpret patient vital signs and maintain accurate medical records.
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients.
Client Communication
- Educate clients on preventive care, medications, nutrition, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Clearly communicate discharge instructions and answer client questions with empathy and professionalism.
- Promote wellness programs and preventive healthcare.
Hospital Operations
- Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography and laboratory analyzers.
- Assist with inventory management and stocking medical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and hospital standards.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to provide exceptional patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and staff training.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Certified, Registered, or Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred (or eligible based on state requirements).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
- Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, radiology, laboratory procedures, and animal restraint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for providing compassionate care to patients and exceptional service to clients.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with assistance when needed.
- Stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Safely restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
- Work in an environment with exposure to animals, cleaning chemicals, and biological materials.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
