This role sits at the core of Global Medical Affairs operations, leading governance, standardization, and program management across key medical processes. You will oversee critical review and governance committees, including medical review and medical education grants processes, while ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across regions. Acting as a strategic partner to medical leadership, you will drive planning, execution, and continuous improvement of global medical initiatives. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Compliance, Finance, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned and efficient execution. You will also manage key budgets, reporting structures, and high-impact initiatives that support enterprise-wide medical strategy. This is a highly visible leadership role where operational rigor, strategic thinking, and communication excellence come together to shape global medical processes.

Accountabilities

• Lead and manage Global and US Medical Review Committee and Medical Grants Review Committee processes, ensuring compliance and governance excellence.
• Oversee medical education, IME/CME, sponsorships, and grant approval workflows, driving consistency and transparency.
• Provide project management support to Global Medical Affairs leadership, including strategic initiatives and cross-functional programs.
• Drive standardization and continuous improvement of medical affairs operations, tools, and governance frameworks.
• Manage budgeting and financial tracking activities in collaboration with medical leadership and finance partners.
• Coordinate global and cross-functional meetings, including town halls and leadership forums, ensuring structured execution and documentation.
• Serve as a liaison between Global Medical Affairs and key functions such as Compliance, Finance, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial.
• Identify risks, interdependencies, and operational gaps, proactively developing mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects, maintaining clear communication of timelines, decisions, and status updates across stakeholders.
• Support contracting processes and ensure adherence to global and regional best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (Master’s, PharmD, or PhD) preferred.
• 7–10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry, including strong Medical Affairs exposure.
• 6+ years of experience in program or project management or Medical Operations roles.
• Strong understanding of medical governance, clinical development, and pharmaceutical industry operations.
• Experience in Medical Affairs operations; oncology experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex operational challenges.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including senior leadership interaction.
• Strong project management capabilities, including timeline tracking, Gantt chart development, and process optimization.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and matrixed environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Smartsheet, Veeva MedComms, or CyberGrants is a plus.
• Project management certification is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, initiative, and ability to influence without authority.
