Compensation: $83- 95K per year, DOE
Shift: 5:00am-3:30pm Monday thru Thursday

Why We Need You and What You Will Be Responsible For
With a record high backlog of boats to build, we are seeking a dedicated, passionate Marine Designer to help us design our incredible boats efficiently and successfully for our mission-focused customers. Using your Marine Design experience, 3D CAD skills, and talent you will create functional and appealing product designs for the law enforcement, first responders, and the military for both domestic and international customers.
What You Will Be Doing
Design and create 3D model customizations to existing SAFE Boats vessel platforms
Incorporate feedback from internal and external customers into designs
Propose design solutions to meet performance requirements
Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOM's)
Reviews and understands specifications
Reviews, audits, and updates BOMs to synchronize with CAD data
Provide support to other Designers preparing 3D models and documentation of vessel designs
Research components and materials for new applications
Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications to ensure conformity with standards and customer requirements
Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformity with design and compliance with operational and safety standards
Provide technical support for vessel construction
Investigate and resolve production and quality problems, conferring with the appropriate personnel as required
Conducts peer reviews of work to ensure accuracy prior to release to production
Support production Team Members, answers questions and problem solves boat builds in progress
Perform other related activities as assigned
Skills & Abilities
Ability to navigate and be successful operating in a dynamic smaller company environment
Strong technical ability and understanding of manufacturing systems, lean manufacturing principles, material flow systems
Strong organizational skills
Ability to creatively problem solve in a complex environment
Advanced computer skills, with a focus 3D CAD, analytical tools and Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work effectively independently or on a team
Ability to work effectively and achieve success under pressure and within deadlines
Ability to travel as required, both domestic and international
Self-motivated, strategic thinker
Experience & Education
Two to five years of applicable marine design experience
Associate degree in design or equivalent marine industry experience
Two years of experience in 3D CAD design and 2D drafting
Solid Edge experience a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Must be a US Citizen
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing
Listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks
Must be able to work at heights and/or confined spaces and lift up to 40 lbs.
