Clinical Pharmacist - Whittier, CA

This opportunity is for a Clinical Pharmacist with a focus on chemotherapy and oncology in an outpatient infusion setting. The role involves ensuring accuracy and safety in medication preparation and administration, with particular attention to IV chemotherapy orders.


Location:

• Based in the Los Angeles area, with multiple sites considered for placement

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM day shifts

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify chemotherapy and other IV medication orders
• Ensure compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards for sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling
• Collaborate with oncology care teams to support safe and effective treatment
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system for medication management
• Maintain vigilance in monitoring for potential errors or adverse reactions during infusion preparation

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials
• Solid experience working with chemotherapy and oncology medications
• Strong knowledge of sterile compounding practices and regulatory standards (USP 797 / 800)
• Proficiency in IV admixture preparation and verification
• Familiarity with EPIC or comparable electronic health records systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
