Respiratory Therapist Opportunity in Columbus, OH

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Columbus, OH where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care, patient transport, and education as prescribed within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. Duties include administering ventilatory support, oxygen and aerosol therapies, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, monitoring with oximetry and capnography, performing arterial puncture and basic pulmonary function testing, assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube management, performing tracheostomy care, and documenting patient response to treatments.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Current Ohio state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Minimum one year experience as an RRT in an acute care hospital environment.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience operating and monitoring mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation, and invasive ventilation management.
• Competence with arterial blood gas collection and interpretation.
• Ability to perform 12-lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with bronchoscopy assistance, chest tube management, and tracheostomy insertion/removal preferred.
• Prior experience in a moderate to high acuity hospital or trauma center preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern: Nights, 3x12.
