CITY ENGINEER (FULL-TIME)

Full‑Time City Engineer – City of Summit, NJ Salary Range: $93,030 – $162,500 This civil engineering leadership position oversees the city’s engineering division and staff, plans, manages, and directs municipal engineering projects, and provides technical guidance to city officials, boards, staff, and the community. Responsibilities Oversee capital improvement projects including roads, drainage, utilities, sidewalks, traffic infrastructure, and related public works initiatives Supervise technical staff Review development applications Prepare budgets and project estimates Coordinate with contractors, utilities, and government agencies Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory engineering experience Strong knowledge of municipal engineering, land development regulations, public infrastructure, and capital project management The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, customer service, and project management skills, along with a commitment to public service excellence.
