If you take pride in your work and want to grow with a company that backs you up, GCI is the place to do it.ObjectivesMaintain a high-visibility presence to deter crime and reinforce client peace of mind.Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols to monitor premises, secure perimeters, and identify safety concerns.Observe and report suspicious activity or safety hazards promptly and accurately.Provide friendly, professional interaction with residents, guests, employees, and the general public.Enforce site-specific policies and procedures while maintaining GCI's standards of courtesy and respect.Write clear, detailed incident reports and daily shift logs using GCI's reporting systems.Respond to alarms, disturbances, or incidents with calm, sound judgment and professionalism.Assist emergency personnel as needed and communicate effectively with law enforcement when required.Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the GCI brand with integrity at all times.Stay alert, aware, and present — minimizing distractions while on duty.Prepare each post for success by arriving on time, following post orders, and completing all shift responsibilities.Communicate regularly with field supervisors and dispatch to ensure seamless coverage and quick response.Participate in ongoing training to build professional skills and prepare for advancement opportunities within GCI.CompetenciesDemonstrates consistent professionalism in appearance, behavior, and communication.Maintains situational awareness and remains alert in all environments.Communicates clearly, calmly, and respectfully — both verbally and in writing.Uses sound judgment to assess situations and respond appropriately under pressure.Follows instructions with precision and takes responsibility for assigned tasks.Treats all individuals with respect and fairness, regardless of the situation.Embraces feedback and strives for continuous improvement and growth.Upholds high ethical standards and makes decisions aligned with GCI's core values.Works reliably with limited supervision and follows through on commitments.Adapts quickly to changing site needs or client expectations.Represents GCI Security with pride and takes ownership of the role.Education & ExperienceMust be at least 21 years of age.High school diploma or equivalent required.Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.Prior security, military, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.Must have reliable transportation to and from assigned job sites.Must be authorized to work in the United States.New to security? No problem. GCI Security proudly welcomes individuals who are new to the security field. If you don't yet have a security license, we'll guide you through the process and even reimburse your licensing fees during your first three months with the company.Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).Ability to patrol on foot or in a vehicle, depending on the post assignment.Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies and navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, or outdoor environments as needed.Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.Must be able to observe and hear accurately to assess environments and respond appropriately.
