Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Fairfax, VA Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services is inviting qualified candidates to join our team of passionate therapists providing excellent pediatric therapy across the United States. Founded in 1995, we support developmentally disabled children through ABA, speech, occupational, and physical therapy services in the entire metro New York area, Albany, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, and the Virginia/ Maryland/ DC area. All clinicians have access to our paperless billing and data collection system, full practice management, continuing education workshops, and team‑building events. Responsibilities Implement occupational therapy services under the direction of a Licensed Occupational Therapist to achieve desired patient outcomes. Provide goal‑directed and activity‑oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in self‑care, functional mobility, and daily life tasks. Ensure continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family, or support system. Provide adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance. Administer treatment focusing on activities of daily living, cognition, social skills, sensory‑motor, fine‑motor development, and problem solving. Determine appropriateness of patient response to treatment and consult with a licensed occupational therapist concerning modifications to the plan of care. Identify patient/family needs for other services and refer accordingly. Requirements Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program and hold a current license in the state of Virginia. 1–2 years of experience working in pediatrics preferred, but new graduates may be trained. Ability to work with some degree of independence within established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. Physical Requirements Travel to and from assigned cases, including driving, walking, or using public transportation. Climb and descend staircases. Lift 10 pounds regularly.
