Environmental Scientist

Pennoni is hiring for a full-time Graduate Environmental Scientist/Industrial Hygienist to join our EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) team in our New York, NY office. Primary Responsibilities Contribute to EHS projects associated with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint (LBP) surveys, mold assessments, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessments, and related projects. Assist with inspections, remediation oversight, laboratory data interpretation, post-remediation clearances, and preparation of inspection and remediation oversight reports. Work independently on assigned projects in New York, NY and the surrounding areas. These projects occasionally require working during evenings, weekends, and/or extended stay travel. Additional duties may be assigned, as needed. Basic Requirements Associate degree (or higher) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, EHS, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field of study (recent graduates are encouraged to apply!). Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. This job role will involve splitting time between the office and time in the field. Preferred Qualifications Asbestos Inspector New York State license (and/or EPA training). Asbestos Project Monitor New York State license. Lead Inspector New Jersey license (and/or EPA training). Experience working with field-based testing & sampling at client sites. Experience working in construction. Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Technical writing skills. Strong analytical skills. Proven ability to adapt / desire to learn new things while on the job. Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy & precision, especially while following established procedures as-written. Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision. Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while displaying excellent time management skills (effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments). Excellent communication skills (verbal & written). This person will be expected to maintain field notes that are legible, accurate, and detailed. Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 Why Pennoni?
