Assistant Soccer Coach

Springdale Preparatory School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Soccer Coach to support the continued development of our soccer program. This stipend position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about teaching the game, mentoring student-athletes, and contributing to a positive, competitive team culture. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach by assisting with practices, game preparation, player development, and performance analysis while helping foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Key responsibilities include: Attend and actively assist with all scheduled practices and games. Support the Head Coach in planning and conducting effective training sessions and skill development drills. Assist with the development of individual and team tactics, technical skills, and game strategy. Provide instruction and encouragement to student-athletes in a positive and supportive manner. Assist with video recording and video analysis of practices and games to evaluate individual and team performance, identify areas for improvement, and support game preparation. Review game film with players to reinforce tactical concepts, decision-making, and technical development. Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities. Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect on and off the field. Assist with equipment setup, field preparation, and post-practice/game cleanup. Communicate effectively with the Head Coach regarding player development and team needs. Serve as a positive role model and uphold the values and expectations of Springdale Preparatory School. Preferred Qualifications Previous soccer coaching or playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or club level. Experience assisting with the organization and implementation of soccer practices and skill development drills. Goalkeeper coaching or playing experience is highly desirable. Experience using video analysis software (e.g., Hudl, Veo, Trace, or similar platforms) to analyze player and team performance is preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes of varying skill levels. Commitment to supporting a positive and inclusive team culture. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification) preferred.
