About the Position

Job Title: Mother-Baby Unit Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: Required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in postpartum with antepartum experience preferred. - Ability to take postpartum patients receiving magnesium sulfate infusions for pre-eclampsia. - Comfortable floating to med/surg patients if not able to take antepartums. Description: Position requires experience in a larger sized facility and level 1 trauma setting. The nurse will care for antepartum and postpartum patients. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing education to new parents. The nurse will monitor fetal heart tones and perform non-stress tests for antepartum patients once per shift. The typical patient ratio is 3-4 couplets. The facility is a level I trauma teaching hospital with a daily census of around 40 patients. The nursing team collaborates with interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory and social services. Self-scheduling is utilized; block scheduling is not guaranteed. Weekends require 3-4 shifts every 4-week schedule. Travelers without prior experience may be considered. No local candidates are accepted within a 100-mile radius. RTO restrictions apply, with a maximum of 7 days preferred. Travelers must complete a drug screen within a specified timeframe. All licenses and certifications must be current upon submission.
