Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse located in the healthcare organizations facility. This position involves supporting various inpatient units, including Medical-Surgical, ICU, and Emergency Department holding areas, primarily during night shifts. The role requires flexibility, resourcefulness, and strong clinical skills to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Job Details: Position Description: Support primarily the Emergency Department and float across units such as Medical-Surgical, ICU, PCU, and overflow areas, providing bedside care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including respiratory failure, sepsis, postoperative care, and COVID-19. Required Qualifications: Licensure as a Registered Nurse with ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; at least 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit; current CPR certification; valid state licensing as a Registered Nurse; 2 years of ICU or PCU experience. Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Additional Information: Will be involved in patient transport throughout the hospital, including units such as ED, CT, MRI, Nuc Med, PACU, and Cath Lab. Orientation includes 2 days of hospital training and 1 day on the assigned unit. The RN must coordinate shift assignments with the staffing office within 30-45 minutes before each shift. Support within the Department: 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist teams available. EMR is EPIC, with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.
