PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST

Job Description
You will determine the eligibility of persons to occupy a National Security sensitive position, based on current security concerns related to suitability for employment.
You will review requests for security clearances, evaluating the sensitivity classification of the position by applying need-to-know principles and pertinent security guidelines, reviewing and evaluating background investigation reports.
You will design and conduct other security-related briefings, including the in-person, annual Security refresher briefing for the entire command and other educational security presentations.
You will help to ensure implementation of the Continuous Evaluation Program (CEP) and will counsel all SSP personnel regarding their responsibilities in the CEP.
You will request investigations as required by the sensitivity of the position in relation to national security.
You will conduct and review fingerprint results to determine the security eligibility of individuals for access to sensitive information, material, resources, or work areas.
