Travel Respiratory Therapist Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Johns Creek, Georgia Summary A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses. The RRT independently assesses, treats, and manages patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including those in intensive care units and emergency situations. RRTs work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver life‑saving therapies and patient‑centered care. Responsibilities Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans. Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders. Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples. Treat patients through various methods including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications. Set up and monitor equipment to ensure the patient is receiving the correct amount of oxygen at the correct rate. Observe and record patient status and progress. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care. Educate patients and/or family members on how to properly take medication and use equipment. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice. Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC. Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred: ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC). Other certifications and licenses may be required. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. Proficiency in PC skills. Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) and present a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently. Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration on details. Sensory Possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
