Assistant Fund Controller – Metro Washington, D.C. Position Overview The Fund Assistant Controller will serve as a key member of the finance team and act as a trusted partner to senior leadership. This individual will work closely with the Senior Vice President and play an important role in managing the financial and accounting activities of multiple funds and co‑investment vehicles. This position offers broad exposure to fund operations, investor reporting, valuations, tax and strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Manage the timeline and process for preparing and issuing quarterly and annual fund and co‑investment financial statements, including supporting schedules. Review and prepare fund profit and loss statements, financial reporting packages, investor reporting, and management reporting. Support liquidity planning and cash management activities. Prepare key performance indicator (KPI) calculations and related reporting. Respond to investor information requests in a timely and professional manner. Serve as a primary point of contact with external auditors and tax advisors regarding fund, co‑investment, and aggregator tax return matters. Assist with quarterly valuation processes. Prepare internal financial analyses and ad‑hoc reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, CPA preferred. Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience. Combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experiences is strongly preferred. Prior experience auditing private equity funds, working within a private equity firm, or direct fund accounting experience. Strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, and advanced Excel proficiency. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization and with investors. High degree of integrity, professionalism, and accountability. Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
