The Support Staff Member at Brownsville Preparatory Institute plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our school, contributing to a positive and nurturing learning environment. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including covering lunch breaks, supervising the afterschool program, and providing general support to the school staff.

• Responsible for the supervision and daily class functions in the absence of the lead teacher.
• Cover breaks for classroom teachers.
• Assess each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Provide children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing precise and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
• Accept responsibility for the classroom and common area maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties including the cleaning of spills and bodily fluids. Cleaning should be through including mopping, wiping down surfaces, and changing out the trash.
• Assist and coordinate snacks, meals, nap time, and bathroom activities.
• Maintain the Brownsville Preparatory Institute professional attitude and work behavior.
• Assist in other capacities as determined by administration.
• Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and functions as determined by administration.
• Observe all rules and regulations of Brownsville Preparatory Institute and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies about the health, safety, and care of children.
• Maintain overall professional personal appearances adhering to the guidelines of the staff handbook.
