This position is responsible for supporting the Foreman in ensuring the shift operates in the safest, most efficient manner to meet department and plant goals. Backup to Foremen in roles and responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintaining a safe and organized workplace. Direct employees to ensure that the department operates in the safest, most efficient manner to meet department and plant goals. Maintain knowledge and abilities of the roles underneath them, to ensure continuity and support of all positions on a day-to-day basis. Work with all support groups to identify and communicate issues and implement improvements. Track and improve daily metrics to required levels (safety, quality, delivery, and cost). Assist, coach, and implement systems to ensure employees are successful in their positions. Development and tracking adherence to standard work. Develop and perform routine maintenance (TPM). Ability to participate in root cause analysis of safety, quality, and production issues. Managing a team, evaluating employees' progress, training new team members, attending meetings, identifying conflicts, and resolving problems are all personnel responsibilities that a foreman may have. Skills needed to perform at a high level in these areas include but are not limited to: Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively. Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others. Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Because you will oversee a crew of varying skill levels, you will need to teach the inexperienced workers and make sure everyone stays on task. Plan for what educational needs your crew members may have. Complete required documentation daily. Conduct disciplinary actions on employees as needed. This is to be worked in compliance with Waupaca Foundry employee guidelines. This includes but is not limited to attendance, insubordination, lock out compliance and work performance. Do performance evaluations on subordinate employees. Other duties as required/specified.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED required, Technical associate’s degree preferred. 3-5 years of experience operating/maintaining CNC’s, CMM’s, robots, or other technical equivalents preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have ability to work as a member of a team or independently. Train and Evaluate Employees Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Must have a strong analytical background with great problem-solving skills. Ability to use forklifts, cranes, electrical pallet jacks, etc. High level of attention to details. Knowledge of CNC methodology. CMM experience. Comprehension of Statistical Process Control (SPC). Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Must have strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to lift 30 lbs. continually and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to walk and or stand constantly throughout a shift. Ability to frequently bend, stop, climb, etc.
