The Cardiac stepdown division (7200) supports the care continuum for post‑surgical cardiac patients, providing specialized acute care in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose: Provide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Participate in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and the patient, family, or caregiver, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plan and ensure communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
