Operations Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)Manager

Department: Behavioral Health / Supportive Services Classification: Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary The Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) provides supportive mental health services, crisis intervention, emotional support, and behavioral health coordination for participants residing within B.A.R.E.’s shelter and housing programs. This role supports participant wellness, housing stability, emotional regulation, and engagement in supportive services through trauma-informed and participant-centered approaches. The LPCC works collaboratively with Case Managers, Operations staff, Housing Navigators, and external service providers to support participant stabilization, reduce barriers to housing success, and improve overall participant well-being. This role may provide individual supportive counseling, group sessions, crisis response support, de-escalation assistance, referrals, and behavioral health resource coordination. Core Responsibilities Provide supportive counseling and emotional support services to shelter participants. Conduct participant wellness check-ins and assist with emotional stabilization. Respond to participant crises and assist with de-escalation and safety planning. Facilitate psychoeducational groups, wellness workshops, and supportive group activities. Coordinate referrals to mental health, substance use, medical, and community-based services. Collaborate with Case Managers and program staff to support participant stability and housing retention. Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential documentation in accordance with organizational and professional standards. Assist staff with behavioral health guidance, crisis response support, and participant engagement strategies. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case conferencing, and program planning activities. Support development of trauma-informed practices and participant-centered service approaches. Qualifications Active California LPCC license in good standing required. Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related behavioral health field required. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or trauma preferred. Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and participant engagement practices. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary shelter and supportive housing environments. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience within LAHSA-funded, Interim Housing, or homeless services programs preferred. Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required. Experience facilitating groups and wellness programming preferred. This position works directly within shelter and housing environments and may involve interaction with participants experiencing behavioral health crises, substance use challenges, and acute emotional distress.
